B.B. King Museum

Indianola, Mississippi

Museum dedicated to life and work of blues musician, B.B. King.

Many consider the blues to be the only truly Indigenous American music and its greatest ambassador was B.B. King.  Coming from the cotton fields of the Mississippi Delta, B.B. King won over millions of fans leaving a legacy of influence on American music.

The B.B. King Museum in King’s hometown of Indianola explores his 60-plus year career through the presentation of his life and work featuring innovative multi-media and film.

The Delta Blues was established as a stand-alone museum in 1999 in nearby Clarksdale and is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the blues.  Housed in the historic Clarksdale freight depot built in 1918, the museum also features a stage next door.
